BREAST BIOPSIES
A breast biopsy is a procedure in which part or all of a suspicious breast growth is removed and examined only after the patient has undergone a standard mammogram and abnormalities were detected. During a biopsy, a sample is extracted through a needle or cut out using a surgical procedure.
The sample is then examined and evaluated by a pathologist to identify whether it is a non-cancerous tissue.
To diagnose these abnormalities, our radiologists can perform ultrasound-guided and needle biopsies. We also offer MRI-guided biopsies for those abnormalities identified by MRI but not seen by other modalities.
